As an aspiring English tutor, I'd hope to employ a unique teaching methodology that harnesses enthusiasm, and a laid-back approach to ensure that students not only learn, but also enjoy the process. I know I used to be quite rewards-motivated personally, and would use this with those I'm tutoring. My lessons would typically last between one to two hours, though I'm flexible depending on the student's and guardians' needs and preferences. With a solid academic background in English Language and Literature, I've consistently achieved As and Bs and graduated secondary school with a 9 (A* for those still using the alphabetical grading!).

Since the stimulus texts (Macbeth, An Inspector Calls and A Christmas Carol) are the same as the ones in my GCSE year, I know I will be able to deliver lessons tailored to achieve the highest grades possible, as I still know the texts inside out. The same can be said for the poetry anthology texts - my school took the anthology of 'Power and Conflict', so I know these ones much more fluently than the other anthology, but I have always been good at picking things up quickly.

Lessons can either be really intensive, or casual, depending on when the sessions are ie more intensive closer to exams. I do like to motivate students with rewards, just little things like cookies or chocolate/sweets (let me know dietary requirements so I don't end up getting the wrong thing! Or better, their favourite treats)!
