I have been teaching Primary for over 7 years, with experience in both KS1 and KS2. During my career, I have administered KS1 SATs, Phonics Screening assessments, writing moderation and had prior experience of tutoring for the 11+. I have extensive experience of implementing interventions to support pupils to achieve their targets, which has seen excellent success. I have also had the pleasure of teaching pupils of a range of academic abilities and additional needs, meaning I am confident in adapting my approaches to meet the specific needs of each child I work with.
I have a strong knowledge of the UK Primary National Curriculum, and am aware of the framework criteria's used to assess pupils at the end of each academic year. I therefore am able to apply this knowledge to create a bespoke series of tutoring sessions that can support your child on their personal areas of development or to simply help them enter the next academic year feeling more confident and prepared.
I'm a strong believer that the best way to learn is through having fun, and so like my lessons to reflect this. I enjoy using practical resources to help my students visualise a new concept before progressing them onto written methods, and especially love bringing a challenging problem with me for us to collaboratively solve together. Whilst taking time to focus on specific areas of development, I always ensure there is time for a game or fun activity to help consolidate the learning and make the new skills memorable!
