My lessons will be made specific to how you learn. I can adapt different mathematical concepts to concrete, pictorial or abstract learning depending on how best the learner takes in information. I can cater the lessons around the national curriculum or any areas of weaknesses that you may have. I also have experience with SATs so I can create specific SATs questions for each of the different maths topics that are a part of the curriculum. We would start each lesson with a quick warm-up to retrieve relevant knowledge that will be needed in the lesson, then I would model how to answer a question. After this, I will guide you through multiple questions until you have built up confidence and feel you understand the concept. Then, I will ask you to guide me through a question using your knowledge to teach me how to answer the question. Lastly, you will complete questions independently which I will live mark as you go on. This allows you to have a concrete understanding and ensures you can apply knowledge to a range of different maths questions. Depending on how much support you would like I can offer homework style sheets for you to complete in between lessons which I can mark and give feedback on. However, this is optional.
