My English lessons are designed to encompass all relevant aspects of (GCSE/A-Level) English at a base level - I offer support with exam techniques, provide material and aid for exam practice, and offer guidance on understanding and writing about texts. Beyond this, I tailor my lessons to the individual student; by understanding what the student requires the most help with I can personalise my teaching so that it best fits them (i.e. my lessons could be focused in on analysing texts, or perhaps on understanding contexts or language techniques. This style of teaching has proven to be both effective and engaging for students, allowing the necessities to be covered, whilst also engaging with students most prominent needs in order to boost them in the right direction to get the best grades possible!

In regards to teaching methods, I try and keep my lessons as engaging as possible by using a variety of methods - reading, writing, testing, practicing and researching. The aforementioned methods are carried out through both individual and supported work, with me providing materials and information for the student to then engage with.

I have found it most effective and enjoyable to try and range the methods of teaching so that students can experience texts and learning in a variety of ways - this simultaneously allows me to find out what works best for them, whilst also providing a ranged and interesting learning experience which differs rom the bulk of in-school teachings methods, allowing the student to be extended beyond just what everyone learns in the classroom.
