I like to start of the lessons with recapping previous materials whether that be grammar or vocabulary in an innovative way to start the lesson warming up the brain in an engaging way. Then I like to teach some new materials and ensure that there is a solid understanding of the new materials. After what I find most useful and many other students when I was in secondary school is practicing those new materials in the lesson as a worksheet or a test, to really solidify the new information. For content of the lesson it really depends on age and syllabus. I will try aligning the lessons with what they are learning in school. Grammar is always the foundation to every language so it is super important to me to teach grammar to a very high level as that is the key to understanding and loving the language. I have grown up in the UK and have therefore even part of the system and know how languages are taught as well as what is taught. I did French GCSE and A-Level obtaining some of the highest grades in the class. I have spent my summer as an Au-Pair in France taking care of kids as well as working in a restaurant. I am carrying on my French studies through French Law at University where my last year will be in Rennes, France doing a masters. I have always excelled at the speaking section of languages exams and know this is often the most frightening for students. But I want to encourage kids to speak as this is what also makes them fall in love with the language and make it much easier for them in class as well as in the exams. I have had teaching experience in multiple fields such as a swimming assistant and a German teaching assistant. I love to work with kids and inspire them to learn!
