Maisie in a nutshell
I am in my final year of MA History at the University of Edinburgh. I sat SQA National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications, and obtained straight A grades. As such, I am happy to tutor History, English, Drama, Politics and Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies.

I am in my final year of MA History at the University of Edinburgh. I sat SQA National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications, and obtained straight A grades. As such, I am happy to tutor History, English, Drama, Politics and Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies.

I am a friendly and empathetic person, with younger siblings sitting SQA qualifications, so I understand that exams can be daunting! In my sessions, I aim to create a relaxed environment and present myself as an approachable tutor that students feel comfortable working with. I'm open to adapting the session as we go, in order to make sure students understand the content thoroughly.

My units for SQA History were: Rise of the Nazis, Impact of WW1, Atlantic Slave Trade, Britain Scottish Migration, Civil Rights Movement, and Russian History. As such, I am definitely happy to tutor people who are learning these units! Equally, my university studies have equipped me to tutor any SQA content, as I am able to synthesise information clearly and concisely.

I am able to assist with the written work and content aspects of any of the above SQA courses. I've used a range of revision methods during my studies, and am happy to pass on these skills during sessions. Furthermore, I found tracking my knowledge helpful during my school exams, and aim to use similar methods to help understand students' progress, and to also boost their confidence in their revision! I am happy to meet in person in Edinburgh/Midlothian, or to arrange sessions online instead.
