I am an extremely well qualified MFL Coordinator and Teacher with over 20 years experience of teaching/ tutoring Spanish.

I have excellent qualifications.
I have a Certificate of Education and achieved an M.B.E in 2013 in recognition of my contribution to Modern Foreign Languages as a teacher,advisor and presenter
at both a regional and national level and I was considered 'excellent'and exemplary by OFSTED. I have a wealth of transferable skills and am well practiced in public speaking.

My lessons will be aimed at beginners or early language learners. If you want to learn Spanish for conversations on holiday, meeting a Spanish relative or to prepare you for a group of like minded learners, lessons can be tailored to your specific needs.

My lessons are dynamic, engaging and interactive. I use a range of resources. Lessons can be adapted to focus on conversation, grammar or activities. You choose.

My teaching has been observed by local, regional and national MFL senior language specialists on the basis that it demonstrates excellent practice.

I have presented MFL methodology at the annual Primary Languages Show. I have also presented workshops at the Spanish Embassy HQ and a regional Head Teachers' Conference. I have given lectures to second year MFL students at Brighton University.

As a result of my good practice I was invited to take part in a 4 year longitudinal study as part of an E.L.L.I.E (Early Language Learning in Europe) project, coordinated by Dr Janet Enever, to monitor progress of children's MFL attainment over a 4 year period. At the end of the project, the Y6 that I had taught since they were in Y3 were assessed as being the fourth most achieved school in Europe in terms of language aquisition, progress and competency.

I was seconded for a year in my substantive role as MFL coordinator to train and advise MFL coordinators, providing support to ensure the effectiveness of.the delivery of Spanish in their respective schools.

I also have a wide range of transferable skills. These include leadership skills, the ability to prioritise tasks, working as part of a team and as an independent worker.

My hobbies and interests include learning Spanish, swimming, music, athletics and football.
