All my lessons are bespoke for the individual based on a thorough assessment of capabilities both at the beginning and in each lesson. Lessons are a mixture of teacher-led and student activity using resources I have created for them. Lessons are taken at the pace of the student and I try to co-create learning with them so that students have control over where they feel they need most support, however, I also use my extensive knowledge to direct learning where I can see a knowledge gap.

Having taught English for 27+ years, I thoroughly enjoy that Aha! moment when something clicks for students and their confidence soars.

Students, without fail, in both my classroom and as a tutor make exceptional progress and find the quality of feedback I provide honest, useful and specific.

I have a passion for poetry and literature - something many students do not feel, however, although they don't always leave me loving English, they do always leave having a healthier appreciation for it and, in some cases loving elements of it.
