Short and snappy is key!
Lessons will always start with some kind of game to get the brain warmed up! This may involve quick fire mental maths, or consolidation of a challenging concept.
We will then move onto challenging areas of learning and address these through games, questioning and, if applicable, problem solving.
Discussion of thinking is crucial and will play an important role throughout the lesson. This may involve using concrete resources to demonstrate understanding.
Initial assessments of the pupil will provide a journey map of progression, and each session will be tailored to addressing misconceptions and plugging gaps where necessary.
Homework can be set for each session, focussing on the areas and will again provide that opportunity for consolidation.
