Lessons are student focussed. In our first session, I will ask you to play something for me and tell me about the music that you are interested in. I will use this to assess your level and start to come up with ways to teach you the fundamentals of guitar technique and music theory, in a way that is relevant to your interests and unique learning goals.

I will teach you foundational skills so that you can work towards learning independently, and enjoy the great joy of exploring music with a deeper understanding of how it works. Should you bring a song to me I haven't heard, I will transcribe it for you and create all the notation necessary. If you need techniques to learn that particular song, we will work together to build exercises and come up with an achievable path to get you where you want to be.

I have taught guitar in High Schools for Ensembles, one on one with students from and in group lessons with Primary School and Secondary aged students. With my experience as a teacher and performing musician myself, I have a unique perspective for education in music and look forward to working with you on getting where you want to be with guitar.
