Hi there my name is Lucy!
I have found a mixture of lecture style presentations to provide key information as well as introduction of academic readings and thought provoking questions is the best way to truly learn a subject. The content will revolve around core sociological and criminological theories and how they explore components within society such as the family, poverty and crime. Studying at a masters level, my experience has broadened to a mixture of interdisciplinary content including sociology, criminology, political theory and international relations. I am currently an academic rep for my social sciences department at the university therefore have training as to the ways in which students prefer to learn. I aim to make lessons concise yet as informative as possible because I am aware that some sociological content in particular can be heavy and overwhelming. My lessons will revolve around a 60/40 structure of teaching and allowing students to independently express their own ideas and perceptions of concepts we will explore. As previously mentioned my particular area of interest is how socio-economic factors relate to criminal behaviour. If a student has a specific area they gravitate too in the duration of lessons I will be happy to provide more academic resources and teaching surrounding said topic.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my information, feel free to get in contact if you would like to discuss anything in further detail.
