I offer personalised lessons in Psychology for a range of abilities, I assess this by going through some initial practice questions with the student to assess what level they may be. I also start by discussing current grades, topics that the student is finding they need extra help with and their concerns or questions. I ask students how they find they best learn, whether it be through writing information down or creating resources, going through questions and so on. I like to make my lessons engaging to the students preference to ensure knowledge can be absorbed, while also having fun! Each lesson can look very different depending on my student, for some it may just be exam technique to ensure readiness for exams while sometimes it may be learning content from scratch. When it comes to learning new information I make tailored powerpoints with activities within them to ensure retention and solidifying new information learnt at the end of the lesson. The most important parts of my lessons is I take a friendly approach to ensure students feel at ease, I know personally how daunting learning can be, especially when you do not feel confident! I will go over anything the student might not understand as many times as they wish to ensure they feel comfortable and secure for what they have learnt in preparation for their exams. I have experience in tutoring, I ran a tutor group in psychology during my time as head girl in my A levels which I really enjoyed. I also frequently tutor my younger brother who has complex and severe special needs, so I also have experience with SENCO students and am happy to help with this also!
