I am a tutor that excels in communication, with extensive experience working with industry professionals and academics in the chemical research industry. Having graduated with an integrated masters (1st class) in Natural Sciences from a Russell Group university, alongside 3 years of study enrolled onto a PhD programme in drug research, I truly have a passion for education in its entirety and would love to share with with new students! I also achieved 2 A* results (mathematics and biology) at A level, alongside an A in chemistry. 7 A*s, 3 As and 1 B were achieved at GCSE level.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE/A level students, however I am absolutely able to assist with university level chemistry and (cellular) biology examination/course material.
Techniques and methodology:
I strongly believe that good teachers make good students, and good teachers are knowledgeable, friendly and approachable.
This is why my approach to learning is very simple.
I would first request an initial session (completely free of charge) in order for us to discuss topics/subjects/material that the student would like to cover going forwards. This allows me to complete the necessary background reading and preparation prior to the first study session. During this preparatory stage, lesson plans will be made, alongside work to be completed outside of the sessions to assist learning for future sessions.
I would suggest that lessons do not exceed 2 hours in length and would recommend 1 hour sessions in the first instance. With that being said, I am very flexible to the needs of the student/parent and can accommodate additional needs/requirements!
