My lessons will be a mixture of what the student wants to learn and is interested in, whether that be learning specific songs, or how to do certain things on the guitar. But I will also provide my experience through music, through the way I teach, using personal experiences, down to advice I can give which will help students find their way in music, in whatever path they choose.
Learning to play to a standard so that one can play with others in a band, or just for fun is a significant threshold of competence, and once I have helped students to reach that level, often they will take their own path from there, as you will learn the most from simply playing with other people, and learning to feel the music. The intricacies or music are more related to feeling and picking up on the dynamics of the people you are playing with. But first, a student must be familiar with the basics of guitar and the patterns that occur across all of music, which will allow for integration with other musicians.
I will also provide an opportunity for students to speak about their experiences regarding music, and to give advice specific to the student. Nowadays, many students are stuck with how to progress on their own, and for this reason many give up. Sometimes a push in the right direction is all that is needed, and I believe that through my communication and personal skills, I believe I can be an important piece in the journey of many more students to becoming exceptional musicians, with a love for the art.
