I offer 30 minute lessons for students as I feel this optimises their concentration levels and it also allows for pieces to be learnt. The lesson can be Varied from rhythmic exercises to new pieces or scales. I like to use reputable books with interesting repertoire that allows the child to learn a number of skills on the violin. For graded examinations I use the ABRSM syllabus and Trinity College London syllabus. As the lessons progress the child would develop first skills they have learnt as well as going back on previous knowledge to ensure they maintain the skills. I break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps, making learning accessible for everyone. I prioritize patience and encouragement, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Flexibility is key—I adapt my teaching approach to suit each student's learning pace and preferences. I believe in the power of positive reinforcement, celebrating small victories along the way to keep students motivated and engaged. I encourage active participation, often asking students to demonstrate what they've learned to reinforce their understanding.
