I have previously tutored English to GCSE students, and will be using this experience to aid my tutoring towards primary school students. I am able to communicate with many different children, as I also have experience working with SEND children, aiding them in their development and growth by helping them to partake in certain activities.
The first lesson will be an introductory lesson, where I will get to know you, and understand your level and what you struggle most with, whether this is creative writing or understanding how to use literary techniques (eg. metaphors, similes, etc.). From this, I will create lesson plans to strengthen skills and understand how to develop your weaker areas. I will often start with brushing over the foundational aspects of primary school level English, such as ensuring you are familiar with certain literary techniques, and use this as a baseline for future lessons.
We will work together on developing your skills, to get you to a level where you are confident in your English skills and are able to use them independently in your writing. My lessons will take on a more interactive approach, where I will ask you questions and for you to give me your thoughts and ideas, to re-enforce what I have taught you in the lesson.
Throughout the lessons, I will take a note on what we may need to work on more and what you have improved on, and use this to plan for our future lessons. My goal is to get you comfortable with understanding English and to prepare you for your next phase of learning.
