My methods of teaching take a unique old school approach; instead of teaching and testing, I prefer improving their self learning and then challenging their knowledge through debates and intellectual conversations about the topic being studied.
The aim is so that students have a better skill to continue their learning and studies process throughout their academics. Instead of trying to teach basic theories to students, I prefer to help students understand the concepts themselves. Students would try to understand for themselves first what the concept are and then try explain them to me, where I will then help to correct their understanding of the concepts. From there I want students and I to converse about these concepts in forms of debate or discussion. The idea of this approach will help to embed the knowledge of these theories into their minds and help with a longer lasting memory of these theories as well as increasing their understanding and application of these concepts.
