I am Katie, I am a current 2nd in department for Geography with experience in teaching Geography, English and Spanish. I have both a QTS grade outstanding and PGCE qualification

I am fully DBS checked, and my qualifications are all on file. I am a teacher who has extensive experience in teaching content from years 7-13, I do not just have an A-Level in these subjects but a teaching qualification as well.

My aim is to build confidence in pupils and to interest them in the subject that they are learning, using current examples to engage them in the topics linking them to the wider world.

Subject knowledge is a highly important aspect, and my aim is to build confidence and knowledge within the subject in order to be able to not only answer exam questions but to also foster a passion for the subject that they are studying.

I am able to relate to my students and am acutely aware of common exam mistakes and how to correct them easily, whilst enabling them to take the time to deconstruct exam questions and be able to understand how to answer them in a cohesive way.

In 2022 I achieved 92% pass rate for my students in a middle set class, with a further 40% of those students gaining the top grades 7+. My class, despite being set 2, gained better results overall than the set 1 class.

I am a dynamic tutor, looking for more fun ways to become engaged with the learning.
I like to use writing frames in order to structure GCSE and A-Level questions. I use materials that are easy to understand, and are based around what you need to work on. I am flexible in what I teach in order to best suit you. My skills in Geography are towards physical geography as opposed to human especially at A-Level.
