As your tutor I will get to know your needs first of all. This is important so that I can ensure my teaching is best suited to your personal requirements. 

Through my experience as an English teacher in outstanding London secondary schools, I have developed a range of teaching techniques. I am adaptable and will vary my technique and style based on the level of study and the content that I am teaching. This may range from short, skills based activities around grammar; language techniques; creative writing and analysis skills to longer activities which combine both skills and knowledge you have be able to complete more in-depth work. 

I will mark your work to ensure you are building on previous work session on session. I usually begin all lessons with a recap of previous work to ensure this learning has become embedded in your mind. 

The excellent standard and quality of my teaching can be seen through my year 11 classes GCSE results. These have been within the 10% of the results for progress in the country for all of the year 11 classes I have taught. 

I have excellent knowledge of English as a subject, which was first developed through my a levels, my degree and later through my PGCE at a world class London university.

I have experience of teaching both AQA and Eduqas English Literature and Language GCSEs.

As mentioned above, I have been an English teacher for the past 4 - 5 years in two outstanding inner-London secondary schools and have taught a range of ages (years 7 - 12).  

I have loved being an English teacher and am passionate about helping students to develop their English skills at all levels.
