We will have a discussion on what your preferred method of learning and note taking is. Then from then I will make a lesson plan tailored to you and your learning preferences. The lessons will be an hour and include: learning content, reflecting on content and answering questions. There will also be open communication for you to tell me, if there’s any specific topics you would like to cover. These sessions are your time. Within my experience of tutoring and teaching, I have found that open communication and active listening has been the main catalyst in effective teaching. I won’t be just delivering content and testing, but I will be getting you to interact, analyze and think about the content. This not only helps consolidate the information, but gives you skills that will help in your further study or career. Subjects wise, I can offer: maths (up to GCSE), English (language and literature, psychology (up to degree level), history (GCSE) and German (A level). However, if you also want some more vocational and hobby related, I can offer guitar lessons (beginner to intermediate) and computer skills (Microsoft Office and IBM SPSS). My main goal from our sessions is that you go away feeling that you have the skills to further learn and apply. I don’t want you to just be able to regurgitate information, but actually thoughtfully critically analyze the information and be an avid learner. Though, I also want you to have fun and enjoy our sessions: learning can be fun I know.
