While planning my lessons I ensure I do this with a zero knowledge mindset. This means all information presented is explained from the very basics which enables students to get the best grasp of the infornation possible. I ensure I provide plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions or go over anything they didn't quite understand during our sessions by checking in throughout the session and evaluating the lesson at the end.
This allows me to reflect on my teaching and plan the next session based on each students personal needs. I like to take a semi-structured approach meaning I plan my lessons thouroughly but allow myself and the student to change paths based on what that particular student needs. This enables pupils to get the most personalised lessons they need. Through my experience I have found this makes students feel much more comfortable and therefore more likely to open up about the subject areas they're struggling with.
