It got to a stage where I was not feeling fulfilled or that I was helping people in anyway. I decided to undertake and obtain my Level 2 and Level 3 personal trainer certificates and I have been training people on a 1-to-1 basis for over a year.
I have always been a keen fitness and sports enthusiast and I have been involved in sport my whole life. I have played rugby to a high level in the UK with Rosslyn Park FC which required intense strength and conditioning training and I am still playing on a more social basis.
I have trained and competed in rowing, judo, athletics, American football and I have a keen interest in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
My main focus has been on performance based training for rugby but I understand all modalities of training to help clients achieve their goals, whether it be to run a marathon, increase their 1 rep max or simply to be able to make it up their stairs and not be out of breath.
I have also attended seminars hosted by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (named Thor) who was the World's Strongest Man and his coach Sebastian Oreb. This seminar provided a greater understanding of how to better perform compound movements and tailor them to the client. They also taught me how to program a strength and conditioning program to make sure the client hits their goals/numbers.
