I have previously lectured in molecular biology/biochemistry/genetics/structural biology at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine where I was a researcher until recently. Prior to that I completed a PhD in molecular biology/biochemistry, and prior to that an MEng in Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology, both at the University of Sheffield.
I have also taught practical molecular biology lab skills and supervised cell biology based research projects.
I've accumulated a wide range of teaching materials over the years. Everyone learns differently so it's about finding the right explanation or diagram that makes the penny drop for you, and then working out the best way for you to retain that information long term. I have a huge collection of slides, textbooks, research papers and diagrams to draw from, and experience setting formal and informal assignments to help you learn the information you need.
I'm a big believer in learning by concept, not just memorising information which you then forget at a later date, so there will be no repetitive learning by rote, I'd much rather we had a back-and-forth discussion, and hopefully you'll start to see how the bits of your chosen subject area fit together over time.
Happy to teach biology/chemistry at A level, most life sciences subjects at university level and above, or if you need more formal training for a corporate environment, please get in touch to discuss this.
If you're not sure if I cover you subject area or not, please get in touch anyway! It might be that I do, or it might be that in my wide network of contacts I know someone who would be perfect!
