I have taught History of Art A Level in schools and sixth form colleges for just over 30 years and have lots of experience and an excellent track record of great results. I have supported both teachers and students in the introduction of the new syllabus and ran conferences on the new topics, such as the Identity and War themes. I tend to specialise in those themes as well as Renaissance, 19th century and/or early 20th century.
I teach using slides in powerpoints with supported notes that I pass on to the students. We look at artists's works, their influences and social context and relate them to the themes of the periods, applying the information to potential examination questions. We revise topics and reference themes throughout the course. Students are encouraged to read relevent texts and learn their notes as we go along.
I support students of differing abilities and my value added results are a testament to this.
