My name is Jessica I am 20 years old and going into my final year of studying psychology at the University of Nottingham. I did Psychology, Sociology and English literature at Alevel. In my lessons I will work with students to understand their strengths and weaknesses as well as working together to set attainable goals to be regularly reviewed. Lessons will follow a basic format that will be changeable based on the students specific learning style and needs. This format will be: reviewing any school work that they have struggled with, working through self identified weaknesses and then working together through past papers and relevant questions. I will ensure that lessons are interactive and stimulating allowing students to get the most out of our time together. It is also important to me that students feel comfortable with me and enjoy lessons as much as possible, so engaging with students in a friendly way and building a rapport is a priority for me. I will provide recourses to the students such as questions to complete between lessons, and learning materials such as guides to essay plans and note pages or mind maps explaining challenging concepts. I will review with my students how they are currently revising or planning for revise for upcoming exams and evaluate how well this is working for them and subsequently help them to adjust their technique or create a productive revision plan if needed. My lessons will focus on developing understanding difficult concepts and how to apply them in the exams, so that my students can achieve their goals.
