Over the past 20 years I have constantly been teaching alongside the development of my practice. From primary school workshops (where I created content for year long projects) to GCSE or adult learners, I adapt very well to different public and needs. Backed with my artistic journey and wealth of knowledge in Art history and contemporary art, I provide taylored lessons or year-long educational project according to the demand.
At the start of a collaboration, I always assess the need, the level and the type of methodology the student(s) seek. From this first session we devise a specific plan for the lessons to come, focussing on practical/theoretical/experimental approaches.
My strengths are to understand where the student/artist is speaking from, what are their genuine concerns and desires of their burgeoning practice and to create a safe, inclusive space for them to be able to take risks. I also confidently help the students to develop relevant academic literacies if they wish to integrate art colleges.
I also have a wealth of teaching and tutoring experiences at university level in institutions such as Oxford Brookes University, Bath Spa, Liverpool Hope or Central Saint Martins in which I lead taught sessions, supervised crit-groups and one-to-one tutorials with BA and MA students.
I am available for an online/phone conversation beforehand to discuss the student needs.
