My passion for teaching comes from a deep-seated belief that all children deserve the opportunity to fulfil their potential, and, with the correct nurturing and support, every child can achieve this. As each student is unique, it is fundamental to create a stimulating and happy learning environment where all learner’s needs are met. It is my desire to create a classroom atmosphere of excitement and intrigue, where students feel safe and confident to express themselves and are eager to learn more.
I believe that learning should never be a chore and should happen naturally through experience. Lessons should not merely relay information passively but should engage the student’s imagination in a way that fosters a lifelong passion for learning. Therefore, my teaching philosophy follows the John Dewey theory that ‘learning is life’, and I take a holistic approach to teaching that allows students to grow physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally.
Children learn best through interactive experiences with the world; the most memorable lessons are those in which they are most engaged and present. Accordingly, it is the teacher’s job to facilitate an environment where this can take place. Therefore, I make sure my classroom is an ever-changing world where children can experience not only practising English in real-world situations but also the culture and heritage of other parts of the world, sparking their imagination and inspiring them to want to explore new things and new ideas.
