Hi, I have level 2 safeguarding training (which is the level all teachers are trained at), and I worked with my local council to keep anyone aged 21 and below safe. My teaching methods depend, on what is best suited for the client. I will ask what topics the client is particularly struggling with and tackle that first. If the client is working to GCSE or A-level exams I will cater my methods to the exam boards. I will go through practice questions at the end of each session, as it shows them how to apply the knowledge they have to the exam. ( A common issue many people face during exams is not knowing how to properly structure their answers and link back to the question.) If the child is younger than GCSE and A-level age, I will take a different approach. Instead of practice questions every session, I would give them a mini test every 2 sessions but not tell them their mark. The mark would simply be for me to see their progress. I am strictly against shaming and will only use positive vocabulary with my client. For all ages I believe keeping the session fun and exciting is essential.
I also believe every child should have access to a tutor and am happy to lower my rates to make it more affordable for those who need it.
I am happy to also cater the length of my sessions to the child's needs, please do let me know.
