Advert description
I have a degree in the History and Philosophy of Science from Cambridge and in Theology from Oxford. Both covered multiple disciplines to a high standard. I have since applied this knowledge as an Anglican vicar in many teaching contexts, including three years as a School Chaplain.
I have now moved on to teaching nationally and internationally as an online tutor. Along the way I have also worked in a Media Agency, planning advertising campaigns for General Motors, Arla Foods, Johnson & Johnson and Telegraph Media Group, among others. I have a Foundation Certificate (Merit) from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. I was also awarded a Gold Medal in the 2003 Biology Olympiad, and the Pusey & Ellerton Prize for Biblical Hebrew from Oxford University in 2014.
My students enjoy deep and lively discussions with focus on subjects and techniques they most struggle with. I use interactive Concept Boards for easy and immediate feedback on work. I also provide transcripts and recordings through Zoom for each lesson, on request for future reference. Every lesson I have taught introduces concepts entirely new to my students, even with familiar subjects. I always aim to stretch their current knowledge and experience, while keeping closely to the course specification of whichever qualification they are pursuing.

(After a 37/40 Philosophy essay score; the student's first at this level) "I told him I was going to send it to you as I was so pleased and wanted you to see how he did, as he has already benefited from his sessions with you and would probably not have shared the good news himself without prompting from either you or I!" - OCR A-level RS & Philosophy student parent
"Following your session with him... he said it was so helpful." - after work on The Tempest in preparation for English Literature GCSE, from the student's parent
