I can adapt and use a range of methods to help students learn what they need. I find past paper question practice to be the most affective for myself as someone who is still a student, but different students have different needs. Some might find that memory recall techniques help them memorise information better, such as flash cards, while others might find connecting ideas through mind maps might help them better. Some students might find that they just need some ideas explaining to them in a different way.
I have experience helping students who happen to have learning difficulties (such as dyslexia), and can try various methods to help these students out. I find that some people with things such as dyslexia can learn better through visualising information needed to be learnt, rather than something trying to be explained over and over again. It can be frustrating learning large amounts of information at once with something like dyslexia, so I am happy to take things slow and try break down information into more manageable chunks and go over them regularly, which is a method I have found can help in these circumstances.
I am also completely open to new techniques students might already have that work for them, and I am happy to adapt to students needs and try whatever method they might suggest, or help them find new ones. Science can be difficult in high-school, as it covers a wide range of topics and can even include mathematics, but I am happy to try and help any new students better understand the subject for their KS3 and GCSE needs. Similarly for history, this can involve memorising large chunks of information and repeating this during exams, or writing long essays for coursework, and I can help students who might be struggling with this through past papers and helping them understand the technique for doing well in exams.
