I have experience as a teaching assistant for classical guitar students ages 12-15 and as well in one-on-one geometry tutoring for age 13. From these experiences, I have found that an open lesson plan allowing for development is most effective. I work with the students to create a plan for the next week or following couple weeks, but if our teaching takes us in one direction or a student is unsatisfied, I always try to create an environment where the student can communicate their needs. Content will vary based on subject, but most social sciences and history subjects will involve history analysis and connection to the modern day. English, writing, and reading lessons will revolve around practice rather than just teaching specifically. Aside from my limited tutoring experience, I also worked as a camp counselor for three years with ages 8-15 and youth group leader with ages 13-18. This experience of working with children has provided me with experience needed to tutor a variety of ages, as well as the development of adaptability and flexibility in any situation, which is very important when working with children. I am very passionate about my studies and topics related to International Relations, Religious Studies, The Middle East, American History, Government and Politics, and Reading. I bring this passion to tutoring sessions and discussions about student's own niche interests within the realm of the humanities. As a third year student, I have taken various college courses, as well as passed AP classes, that have prepared me to tutor in these subjects.
