I will base my lessons off of PowerPoint presentations - which will contain key pieces of information, which you would be able to take with you after our lessons, so you can go over things that we have discussed in the lesson.
I will use a combination of mental games and revision tips and tricks to provide you with the best methods of retaining the information that you are given in your regular school lessons, and the information that I will be teaching in my tutoring lessons with you. All of these methods are tried and trusted by myself, which led me to achieving top grades in both my GCSEs and my A-Levels.
If necessary, I will make worksheets for you to complete as 'home work' (not boring I promise!) purely as a way of going over what I have taught you and bringing everything together. These may contain essay practices, but they would only be plans, which you would prepare as 'homework' and we can discuss in the next lesson together. I would be able to provide quality feedback on your essay plan and provide tips to really make your essays stand out - which is the most important aspect in a humanities subject, such as history.
I will recommend videos for you to watch in your own time that will consolidate some of the information that we have discussed in lessons - these will not be exhaustingly long, boring videos; these will be snappy videos that are approved for student use, that are straight to the point and will help you remember key information.
A final thing; my lessons are completely influenced by yourself. If there's something that has worked for you before when you have had tutoring sessions with other people, that you'd like me to take on board, go ahead and let me know! In our first lesson, we will talk about the best ways that you learn, and what your key problems are when learning - none of which will be things that I haven't heard before, or things that I haven't been through myself. If you have any feedback regarding my lessons once we get stuck in, if there's something that isn't quite working for you, you are welcome to tell me. These sessions are a safe, free space for you to be productive in a friendly environment, and in one which is hopefully fun and creative as well.
