My name is Harrison Pilkington, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Salford. I received a degree in Popular Music & Recording. I teach bass guitar and six-string guitar. I have been studying and playing music since I was in high school. Throughout the years, I have played in bands whilst honing my technique. Since attending university, I have released music as a solo artist and have specialised in production and engineering. In addition, I have received tutoring myself, so I am aware of the process and the dynamics that make up tutoring sessions. I am looking to pass on the knowledge I have acquired and inspire new people to learn instruments. I understand learning an instrument can seem daunting but I'm here to guide you through the challenges that come with it. The rewards that come out of it are endless.
I mainly teach online and have a flexible schedule. I teach all ages so it doesn't matter if you are young or if you're a bit older and have decided to pick up an instrument for the first time. The sky is the limit. I am a firm believer of teaching the fundamentals and then building upon them. I strive to make the lessons fun and engaging, mixing technique and practice with actual application of eveything learned. In addition, I teach things from a general and technical perspective. Sometimes it is appropriate to teach from a macro perspective, other times it is necessary to zoom in on specifics.
