I have taught online as well as in person. I will teach based on what the student enjoys more. For example, if I feel that the student has achieved better by doing past papers I will make sure lessons entail annotated exam questions with a revising from mark schemes directly. If I feel that there are gaps in knowledge I will work out which is better from presentations, revision guides or mind maps made by myself. The most common one is taking all revision notes out of the mark schemes and making mind maps out of these so that students learn and understand mark schemes as opposed to lots of words from revision guides. Real exams entail short and clear answers as opposed to long paragraphs and if students are directly learning these within revision notes their answers will be correct no matter what the questions is asking. I have revision material and revision guides which are going to be helpful. I usually tend to give extra work to do in your own time at the end of the lesson such as exam questions which I will mark, but this will depend on the period of time within the year. I have taught primary school children with engaging activities and I can handle students that tend to get distracted, my style is to play games involving the required knowledge with some tests occasionally to test knowledge. I aim for calm and relaxed lessons, however I do expect students to do extra work and carefully listen when I am explaining harder topics.
