I have tutored online for almost two years and work with many students by teaching them the core subjects: maths, english and science. I am familiar with the curriculum of all core subjects for the key stages of 1 through to 5. I possess strong administrative talents with a proven ability to document, track, and update student progress through formal reporting procedures and I have helped students prepare for their exams and assessments.
With primary school students, I teach all core subjects for KS1 and KS2. I understand that these are part of the developmental years of children and so I aim to guide my students and help them become confident with the curriculum. In English I teach reading and writing, speaking and listening. In maths I teach arithmetic, algebra, foundations and geometry. In science, I teach chemistry, biology and physics and cover the key concepts for each subject.
Regarding the secondary school years, I have covered the essential topics for all 3 cores subjects. As a biomedical sciences graduate, I have always had a keen interest in the sciences and am aware of the standard required of students in the higher school years; I have been able to orientate my teaching style to accommodate the GCSE and A level students with their science lessons and help them understand the topics. I teach A level biology, human biology and chemistry. I can also teach all three sciences at GCSE and KS3 level.
My teaching style is professional and I tailor my classes to fit the student’s needs and requirements. I understand that each class is different and can switch between different teaching styles such as delegating or facilitating. Also I encourage my students to have a voice in the classroom and create a comfortable learning environment in which questions and queries are always welcome. As a student myself, I know the importance of having skills such as critical thinking and communication, and in my classrooms I facilitate students in learning these skills and/or improving on them.
I have the ability to teach students of all ages and have the ability to adapt to lesson plans and I have experience working with children at primary level, up until children who are in their the last year of high school. Additionally, I possess strong administrative talents with a proven ability to document, track, and update student progress through formal reporting procedures and I have helped students prepare for their exams and assessments.
