Most importantly, I will try to make the lessons as interesting as possible, as you learn the best when you are enjoying yourself. Firstly, you would tell me what you specifically want to work on/what you are struggling with and I would create a lesson plan in advance that we would go over it. I am excellent at explaining concepts, and am great at making up specific analogies relatable to you to help you learn. When necessary, I will also draw diagrams and encourage you to do this with me as this can greatly enhance learning. Towards test/exam time, I will create questions mimicking what your tests will look like. I will also send you my notes on the topic and helpful youtube links to help you study when we are not tutoring.
Teaching biology is my strength. I have taught first year and second year university papers covering topics such as cellular physiology, anatomy and biochemistry. This teaching has been one-on-one and in a classroom. I've also taught psychology at university and tutored math in the past up to a year 10 high school level.
In addition, my depth of knowledge from my university degree and doing a one year research project which gained me my first class honours degree means that I can explain concepts beyond the course content, which in some cases can make things easier to understand. But if I notice a topic we are covering you is boring, we will move on to the next thing to keep the content engaging. I have a warm personality so don't be afraid to ask me to slow down, go over stuff again, or do something completely different.
