Gary Hayden

I offer one-to-one online lessons for high school students in mathematics and physics, and primary school students in maths and English.

I have more than twenty years' teaching experience. First, as a primary school class teacher. And secondly, teaching courses in mathematics and English at the British International School in Ho Chi Minh City. I've also tutored maths, physics and chemistry at GCSE level.

For the past eight years I've taught courses in academic English, philosophy, and critical thinking at some of Japan's most selective universities: Chiba University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Sophia University.

My teaching style is based on identifying the points at which students have become stuck, confused, or discouraged. Then, using clear explanations, lots of practice, and side-by-side problem-solving, I enable students to get a thorough and confident grasps of the concepts involved.

I have taught hundreds of lessons using Zoom, and am willing to use any other online learning tool preferred by the student.
