A key skill to achieve top marks in English Literature is to be thoughtful, creating developed arguments in response to the text we were studying. I encourage students to form their own opinions and ideas, and together we can turn this into a thoughtful, high level argument to achieve high marks!

I have always been an energetic teacher, encouraging this attitude in the classroom. Lessons should be enjoyable, these are the ones that are most memorable!

Whilst I love English Literature, English Language is my specialism. I studied Language at University and have used this specialist knowledge to help my students succeed in English Language. The exam is skills based, so we need to gain confidence in how to tackle each question, and I have the answers!

I began my teaching career in a school in Bath, teaching there for two years. I then moved to London, teaching English and Media at a school in Whitechapel. From there, I moved to be head of department of Film Studies at a school in Tottenham, whilst still teaching English across KS3 and KS4. I have learnt so much and worked with so many wonderful students across all abilities and experiences. I cater my lessons for the needs of the individual.
