As I former ALevel student I have personally experienced many forms of teaching. From this experience I have found that learning usually happens best during highly interactive and mentally stimulating activities. So, in during my tutoring lessons I aim to make learning and retaining information as engaging as possible. I will also let the student guide their own learning by establishing the things they struggle with and helping to build upon those areas. I can offer revision techniques and writing strategies that many Alevel students are not taught to do during school. During lessons I will adjust my pace and explanations to fit the students level of competence and offer them personal advice that could only be given by a former ALevel psychology student. It is important to me that students are individually catered for as every person is unique, so once I find out the students learning styles, I will base my lesson around that. I am happy to to help with the core psychology syllabus, however, I also have access to a wide variety of further readings that I can recommend to help students go that extra mile. My lessons will be primarily based around what the student thinks they need help with, however, if I notice other gaps in the students knowledge, I will also make sure to cover those areas. All in all, I will provide a safe and supportive learning environment for psychology students who want a tutor that personally understands the struggles of ALevels and will work hard to overcome those challenges. From homework to past papers, I can help with it all.
