I have a relaxed approach to the lessons. I am cordial and positive. I slowly demonstrate chord shapes, scales, riffs and the picking and strumming. I will answer any questions or repeat sections at any point in the lesson. I document all lessons in detail so students progress seamlessly. I have been playing regularly for over 20 years, I am a singer/songwriter, and I have a First Class Honours MA in Songwriting. Part of that involved 6 lessons with an expert guitarist myself. I am also taking an online guitar course to sharpen my own skills, and progress to expert level. I teach young and old, beginners to intermediate. Lessons generally are one hour long.
I enjoy teaching a lot, and currently have many in person students who come to my home studio for lessons. It gives me great satisfaction to see
them developing and improving. I ask students what songs they like, I and I help them to learn to play them. This gives them a fantastic insight into how chord progressions
work in songs, and is also very enjoyable for them, as they are playing music they like. I will gladly do this with you too, just name a few songs you like,
I will research and figure them out, and we can then get to work on them!
