Hi there, I will provide comprehensive study materials and extremely detailed advice and guidance. Homework will be set and promptly marked, which I believe is the fairest way to do it - no month long waiting times! My lessons involve strong back and forth communication and classic study techniques that I believe are the most effective and certainly tried and tested, involving the use of flashcards and the writing of essays under timed conditions among other intensive study techniques developed and tested by myself, to great levels of success. Furthermore, I enjoy delving deep into each topic rather than simply the surface level information teachers usually provide, allowing for my students to develop their knowledge on every topic and find what information and style works best for themselves as I personally understand the importance of a good fit between a pupil and the essays they learn and go on to produce in the exam. The assignment aspect of the course has also been reintroduced to both Higher and National 5 Modern Studies, it is a difficult piece of work but I can provide experienced support in both the research aspect of the task and the production of the final piece. As I have only recently completed the courses I feel I have better experience than most in the true workload of each student and what every essay and piece of work requires, with expansive knowledge of the marking standards of examination style essays that are well worthy of an A! While I am willing to develop skills for each individual pupil, my specific areas of expertise in the Higher Modern Studies course include, Democracy in Scotland and the UK, Social Inequality and the Lack of Development in Africa.
