I like to use a mixture of presentations and practice questions to get across key exam techniques. To perfect your work against the exam criteria, we will do lots of practice questions. The student and I will mark together, which teaches the student how to critically analyse and dissect their own work for strengths and weaknesses. Any questions are encouraged during the lesson, and I may give homework depending on what the student prefers.

I like my lessons to be relaxed and casual between the student and myself, as I believe in depth conversation is the way to truly understand a topic. Therefore, I will try and connect with my student, and encourage them to study their own passions and interests.

Furthermore, I believe that alternative study techniques like watching educational videos, documentaries, listening to radio programmes and/or podcasts are a really useful way to study. We should make use of the modern era of the internet to get a full breadth of knowledge, which we can use to our advantage in the final exams.

I have experience sharing my work in classrooms while I was in school myself, mentoring the younger years in their GCSE English lessons. I am flexible, friendly and approachable. I can also adjust the content to whatever level a student may require, meaning we can aim for the best possible results for the student.

I can also mentor students throughout their higher education application processes, as a Cambridge university student myself.
