Emily Dawes

My name is Emily Dawes. I am 27 years old and have recently moved back to my home of Guernsey in Great Britain after living in Ohio, USA for 7 years. I attended Youngstown State University in America during that time and achieved a degree in History with a minor in Asian Studies. My final GPA was 3.31 upon graduation. I achieved entries on both the Dean's and President's list during my degree. I have experience writing and formatting essays in both the style required by the British education system and the styles required by the American education system. I have also achieved a conversational degree of Chinese through my Asian Studies minor related classes. I have travelled widely and because I have lived in another country I have experienced cultures outside of my own. I am aiming to eventually form my own business based on trade in East Asia, but for the moment I am settling into living in my home country again. For this reason I wish to find some stable work until I figure out what it is that I want to do with my future career. I have dyslexia and so I am always eager to help others with learning blocks like me to reach their potential! I’m definitely not someone who believes in traditional learning, I think it’s important to experiment and find what works for you!
