I am a university student, doing my MA in Renaissance and Early Modern studies, and I've tutored Maths and English at KS3 and GCSE level to two students over the past two years.

With maths, lessons will be very much tailored to your weaknesses and areas you want to work on. Based on the topics that you give me, I will put together questions with a range of difficulty. I will talk you through the first ones, and then we will work through them together, comparing answers and approaches. People understand maths in different ways, so if you don't understand something, let me know and I'll change up my explanation, and hopefully it'll click! I welcome questions and feedback, so if at any point you have a query, don't hesitate to ask!

With English, lessons will also be tailored to your weaknesses, however, I will also aim to ensure that we cover the different aspects of English too. Part of the lesson will include reading, analysing and comparing texts. However, we will also look at public speaking, both from a prepared text, but also speaking spontaneously from a thought-provoking or simply wacky prompt to build up confidence. We will also be doing creative writing based off prompts and a collection of words to include-it'll be fun whilst also increasing your vocabulary. If however, you just want to focus on one thing, or don't feel confident yet doing something like public speaking, that's okay. The lessons will be tailored to you, your needs and what you want to work on.
