I have worked in an academy, tutor, and international school in South Korea for 3 years. I plan my lesson by interpreting student's interests in the lesson. For example, if a student's academic goal is to grow in reading, writing, and speaking I will plan the lesson with the student's interested topic. If the student's future dream is to become a teacher, the student's lesson will be; reading news articles, watching, creating news articles, creating lesson plans, creating "What if" activities, creating interview sheets, and discussion based on student's interest. The reason I interpret students' interest in the lesson is that I believe learning is not working on worksheets and implementing the idea but guiding students to build their creative and critical thinking skills to grow their viewpoint on their future goals and also their academic goals. This will give students a wider view and to see the various possibilities for their academic growth and growth in their interests. In other words, the teachers need to create a safe and enjoyable environment for the students to be motivated, and willing, and to let them spread their wings in learning.
