Over the years I have worked with many different children of many different abilities and at different ages.
I can provide help with most subjects up to GCSE level and can provide A level support with the humanities, in particular philosophy and history, as I do in my role at work.
My degree is in political philosophy which provides me with a very broad academic understanding and my experience of working with highly complex children allows me to be extremely flexible with my delivery of lessons. I am an expert at teaching the ‘un-teachables.’ Whatever way you learn is fine by me and I can tailor lessons to suit the needs of individual students. I have taught maths lessons in a tree and media lessons in a corridor. The normal classroom is not always the best place for all students to reach their fullest potential.
I have a lot of experience working with young people with additional needs, whether that be autism, SEMH, SEND, trauma or ADHD. My lessons can be adapted to suit the needs of individual learners, not just in terms of this or that condition, but to the individual personality of the student.
English and Science I can provide lessons in up to gcse level. Maths, however, is not my strong point. If you’re struggling at maths though I can show you what made it easier for me and how I managed to pass my maths exam. Over the years I’ve learned lots of ways of making the maths syllabus more accessible and straightforward for the students, who like me, find maths to be a challenging subject.
