Have you ever wondered about the way in which society is structured and why that is the case? Or pondered the big questions about human existence? Well, so have thousands of philosophers over the years and many of the answers they have proposed to these questions have influenced political policy and culture, helping to shape the world as we know it today. Ideas in philosophy can often be taught in a sometimes bewilderingly atomised fashion, with a plethora of different ideas that have no real connection to reality, I however, think it is important to highlight the historical aspect of these ideas and examine the socio-political circumstances which brought them about in the first place, so as to really understand the 'why' as well as the 'what' of the idea in question.
Feel free to come and have a chat, not every lesson has to be a pedagogy, in fact you may be surprised at how much you already know! I can also teach more formal lessons regarding specific subjects in philosophy up to undergraduate level, for instance I can provide a degree level presentation and subsequent one on one discussion of French post-structuralism, or provide an entry level presentation on Epistemology, or different theories of morality. I also have experience up to A level English literature and can provide help preparing for exams as well as helping to develop your skills for analysing and interpreting a text. I am also able to help with any sciences up to GCSE level, whether it just be a bit of extra time to help get your head around something, or to help you prepare for the all important exams. I am also able to help you with developing good study habits and general exam techniques to help ensure you're able to perform your best on the day it really matters.
