Advert description
I hold a PhD in analytic philosophy from the University of Leeds. Before that, I was at Sussex University, from which I received a Masters with Distinction and a 1st Class BA, both in Philosophy. I have taught philosophy and logic to university, A-level, and GCSE students. But when I was a student myself, I would sometimes struggle to wrap my head around what was being taught!
The simple fact is that philosophy and logic can be very challenging, even for students who might excel at other subjects. These difficulties are often compounded by low confidence, or by inadequate teaching hours. I always strive to boost my students' self belief, and devote as much quality teaching time as necessary to their development.
I firmly believe that philosophical education requires dialogue. I encourage my students to develop and defend their philosophical understanding through discussion and debate. As for logic, my approach is different, focusing instead on working through exercises - this is the only way to truly learn this material.
My lessons range from one to two hours in duration. However, I would not generally recommend going over an hour and a half.
