While relatively new to the tutoring scene, I'm looking to develop a tutoring style highly led by and developed by the student themselves. Using my high education and natural ability to pick up topics quickly, as well as foreknowledge in subjects such as Psychology, History and English, I aim to help those struggling with the topic or interested in developing their understanding in those topics.
By being student led you can determine the level of engagement, for instance if you want tasks, goals or any other active role by me. If you are looking to breach into a subject for the first time you may also want to determine the level of knowledge, be it at a beginner level or a more advanced level. I exist to listen to any of these wants and to then try to formulate a plan going forward.
I aim to discuss any questions, concerns or desires of the student in my first lesson so that going forward things can be done in a more controlled but attentive approach. Goals, topics and understanding will naturally change overtime and adapting to any of these is always an over-arching aim of mine. My ultimate goal as a tutor is to leave any student with a deeper and more satisfied understanding of any relevant subject, as well as the means to further their own understanding should they wish it.
While I intend to approach most students with a more formulaic or controlled manner, there may be times where a more informal discussion could be welcomed as a means to more lightly cover a topic and if you preferred a more informal approach overall then that can be addressed as well. Again...student led!
