Derek Lam

As a 4 A* student I've gone through the trials and tribulations of understanding difficult math concepts and so I'm hoping to impart the tips and tricks that I've picked up along the way so that I can make what can be a complex subject simple.

I will make sure in the first lesson I am focusing on what your goals are, your strengths and where you need support. From there I can make a plan tailored for you to make sure you improve. I'll also get to know you as a person so that I can try to make the lesson as enjoyable as possible. Learning can really be painful sometimes! I'll pull on all the resources I have, from old notes, revision books, online notes, videos, tailored problem sets e.t.c.

What I need from yourself is to be honest and willing to learn. It can be tough but if you don't tell me where you're finding it difficult or how you feel the subject then I can't do my best as a tutor to support you. Help me to help you!
