I am a recent University of Oxford graduate, having attained a 2:1 in Ancient and Modern History. Alongside completing an MA in Magazine Journalism at City, University of London, I tutor History up to A Level standard, as well as English and Drama up to GCSE standard (I gained A*s at A Level in each of these subjects). I find that making tutoring sessions as cooperative as possible to be the most fruitful method, especially in the humanities which are so subjective and open to various interesting viewpoints and approaches. Having attended Oxford University, I have gathered that often the best way to fulfil potential in these subjects is for the student to be brave and adopt their own opinions, so I aim to empower students to do this in my lessons, as well as explaining concepts and ideas to those who are struggling to get to grips with particular topics.
I have only recently begun tutoring but already have experience with providing various tutoring sessions, ranging from advising on Oxbridge personal statements to teaching Year 6 English. I also have experience as a teaching assistant in music lessons at a primary school. As a result, I am a very rounded tutor who can help at various different ages and academic levels across three different subjects.
